Our Staff

Dr Paul Hoversten graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. After four years in the Army, he returned to Iowa Falls in 1981 and started practicing General Dentistry.  He belongs to all of the regular Dental Associations. Paul and his wife, Rita, have four sons and eleven grandchildren. Outside of work, he is involved in the church, community, and a bunch of stuff he’s not going to bore you with here.

Dr Michael Colwell received his dental degree from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. In 1985, Mike and his wife, Renee, moved to Iowa Falls to begin practicing General Dentistry with Dr. Paul Hoversten. Mike and Renee have four grown children and two grandchildren. Dr Colwell continues to advance his dental education and is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, North Iowa Dental Seminars/Seattle Study Club, Waterloo Dental District, and the Hardin County Dental Society. In the Iowa Falls community, Mike is a member of St. Mark’s Church, Knights of Columbus, Rotary, Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation and Iowa Falls Area Development. Mike is an avid sports fan and enjoys participating in tennis, golf, racquetball, biking, and running.

Deana graduated from George Brown College, Ontario, Canada with her Registered Dental Hygienist degree. Deana became licensed in Iowa in 1988 and has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten for 20 years. Deana is married and has three grown children. She enjoys volunteering, cooking, decorating, sight-seeing and exercising.

Lisa started off her dental career as a dental assistant, graduating from Marshalltown Community College. She worked as a dental assistant for 16 years before returning to college to get her AAS degree in Dental Hygiene at Hawkeye Community College. She has been in the dental profession for over 30 years. When Lisa is not busy attending to her dental patients, she enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Jen has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten since 2005. She is married to her husband, Shane, and they have a son, daughter, and a fur baby Boxer, named Ruby. Jen enjoys reading, spending time with her family and supporting her husband racing his race car.

Kathy graduated from Iowa Central Community College with her Registered Dental Assistant degree in 1972. She has worked in the office of Drs. Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten for the past 25+ years as a chairside assistant. Kathy loves living on their family farm where they raised three children, all whom are married and have blessed them with nine grandchildren. She is very involved in church, community, loves to travel and can be found wearing cardinal and gold, cheering for the ISU Cyclones. Spending time with family and attending her grandkids events is her great joy!

Judy has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten for the past 17 years. She lives in Iowa Falls with her husband, Rick and two dogs. They have a daughter and new son in law who live in Illinois. In her spare time Judy like to golf, read, sight see and ride bike.

Marilyn has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten since 2003. She is a lifetime Hardin County resident, married with three children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing crafts, and shopping.

She has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten since 2007. She graduated from Hawkeye Community College attaining her business degree along with her Iowa Registered Dental Assistant degree. Sheila and her husband, Dick, have five children and several grandchildren which keep them young. She enjoys being with her family, friends, and going to their cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Ashley has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten for a little over a year. She lives in Williams with her husband, Tyler, one dog, and a baby due in November. Ashley enjoys kayaking, going for bike rides, sitting by the camp fire, and spending time with family and friends.

Deb has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten since May 2018, working at the front desk. Deb and her husband, Mitch, have a son and a daughter who are attending college. They enjoy camping together as a family and love to travel.

Deanne has been employed with Hoversten Colwell & Hoversten since 2010. She is responsible for ordering supplies for the doctors and all office staff. In her spare time she enjoys crafts and weaving on her loom.
